My second music album, Vagaries of Deep Time, is out now on YouTube. As with the first one, Algos in the Cave, and its remixes, I wrote all the lyrics, and Suno.ai generated the music.
These songs explore and illustrate themes from my articles. Some are more didactic than others, and the challenge for me is to write meaningful but not preachy, academic, or boring lyrics. I’m proud of this second batch of songs, and I’m still amazed that this kind of human-AI hybrid music production is currently available.
The second album branches out into some folk sounds, especially with “Skygod” and “The Leash.” That last song draws on an experience I wrote about in “What it Means to Say Life is Absurd.”
