An homage to the original 50 favorite Christmas songs list from the last decade, the selections come in packs of five from here on out:
#50 - I Wonder as I Wander (Audrey Assad): The ideal voice to cover this Appalachian folk song that wasn’t documented or published until the 1930s.
#49 - The First Noel (Josh Groban & Faith Hill): A close runner-up in the genre of Christmas carols that are framed around a sequential narrative.
#48 - Prepare Him Room (Sovereign Grace): A Christmas table-setter that brings home the Messianic prophecies and promise - “Let the King of glory enter in.”
#47 - How Great Our Joy (Atlanta Master Chorale): Another modern arrangement that upgrades the traditional melody, it brings the joy through clearly.
#46 - The Shepherds’ Farewell (Royal Choral Society): A musical masterpiece from the 19th-century French composer Hector Berlioz that never fails to please the ear.
