I’m having a beach pop-up mega sale at Brothers in Rockaway Beach, NY next Sunday!
Brothers is at the Beach 108th concession building and I’ll be there from 9am to 1pm selling baskets and brooms! They serve the best breakfast on the boardwalk, so come by and have a little beach / breakfast / shopping day on Sunday, June 14.
Did I mention we are moving to California from New York in one month? I’m clearing out all of my inventory and it’s on mega mega sale! Like 50-90% off, and if you come near the end of the day it will all be even cheaper because I’m not bringing it with me!
This process from Sonia Feldman caught my attention:
I revised Girl’s Girl the same way I revise poems. At the end of a draft, I would print out the full manuscript, mark it up, take notes. Then I would open a fresh, blank document on the computer. Every word from the old draft that I wanted to carry into the new draft, I had to type in by hand. No copy paste. This approach is part of why my book is so short. For the first few full drafts of the novel, somewhere between a third to half of the word count from the previous draft wouldn’t make the cut.

With my many-months hiatus I realize I haven’t posted any recent projects. Here is my completed seasonal calendar. The ring rotates through the year as the seasons change.
I was so disappointed with the original format of this piece; it took me a few months to be ready to revisit it. I gently disassembled it and took the part I loved the most (this circular seasons piece) and tried again with a different form factor. This second attempt is pleasing to me! Sometimes you just gotta persevere a little longer.
