There’s just a couple of days left to get involved in Season 8 of Gate’s World Crypto Trading Competition (WCTC). The exchange has brought back one of crypto’s biggest trading events with team battles, solo rankings, and head-to-head trading formats running simultaneously.

Prize distribution scales dynamically based on participation and trading activity throughout the campaign.

This season also introduces a faster-paced PK format alongside the standard team and individual leaderboards, adding a more aggressive real-time trading element to the event.

To participate, register for WCTC S8 through Gate, choose your preferred competition format, and begin trading to qualify for rankings, rewards, and campaign bonuses.

Elon Musk shared a Stanford clip from Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, who warned that AI agents are now completing PhD-level finance work in hours or days, not weeks or months.

Griffin said he went home “fairly depressed” after seeing highly skilled quant work automated inside Citadel, marking a sharp shift from his previous scepticism. It looks like while AI may not be killing entire job categories yet, it’s already eating into elite knowledge work.

Phil Haunhorst reports

Bitcoin Depot, once the largest Bitcoin ATM operator in the US, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Texas and shut down its entire kiosk network on Monday.

CEO Alex Holmes blamed state bans, transaction caps, tighter compliance checks, and mounting litigation, saying the company’s current model had become “unsustainable.” The filing follows a brutal Q1, with revenue down 49.2% year over year and gross profit collapsing 85.5%, raising fresh questions about how much of the crypto ATM sector can survive the regulatory squeeze.

Kamina Bashir reports

Michael Saylor teased another major Bitcoin buy on Sunday with a “Big Dot Energy” post, setting traders up for today’s 8-K filing.

Independent tracker Strc.live estimates Strategy may have accumulated around 15,466 BTC across four active trading days last week, while STRC preferred share volume hit a record 15.1 million shares on Thursday. The company is also pushing retail STRC holders to approve semi-monthly dividend payouts, potentially keeping the capital-raising flywheel spinning.

Lockridge Okoth reports

A fake gold deal in Nairobi allegedly saw an American investor lose 431,380 USDT after wiring funds for treasure that never arrived. How much gold was supposedly on the table?

A) 40 kilograms
B) 100 kilograms
C) 140 kilograms
