Hello from Brittany, France
If you're new here—welcome! You are over 1300 subscribers now, thank you so much! I’m so glad you’ve found your way to Off The Beaten Path, a space where I share curated travel guides, and stories from the road. I’m a designer, researcher, and mother with a deep passion for textiles, heirloom color-grown cotton, and the people who keep traditional craftsmanship alive.
For nearly a decade, I lived in Mexico City—exploring its vibrant neighborhoods, learning from master artisans, and traveling across Latin America to connect with textile communities. I then spent another eleven years in New York City, where I launched my textile brand Behind the Hill and had my two children. Today, I’m based in Marseille, in the South of France, where I continue to travel, research, and write—always with curiosity and respect for the cultures I encounter.
I believe in traveling slowly, thoughtfully, and off the beaten path—and I hope this space inspires you to do the same.

About paid posts:
Paid subscribers receive access to beautifully designed, downloadable itineraries—rich with personal tips, hidden gems, and practical information for immersive, meaningful travel. These guides are made to be printed and carried with you, helping you navigate cities and countryside alike. I only share itineraries I know intimately—each one is based on places I’ve explored myself, often many times over, and shaped by firsthand experience and trusted local connections.
Itinerary coming soon: Puerto Escondido and the Coast of Oaxaca.
I can’t wait to share this part of the world with you—I've been traveling there for over 20 years, and it’s now home to our house, Monte LALALA, a longtime dream brought to life.
