You cry out to God, "Please, send me a miracle."
You beg for something that will compensate for your limitations.
Make up for your weaknesses.
Override your failures.
You hold your breath, waiting for the knight in shining armour. The inheritance. The "big win". Some external force to save you from the mess you’re in.
You ask for a miracle.
If you could only see this miraculous living, breathing, thinking, feeling creation that is you.
·
The fact that you woke up this morning and got to spend another day on this planet is a miracle.
The fact you exist - this exact combination of features, traits, qualities, cells that has never existed before and will never exist again - is a miracle.
The fact that every single obstacle, tragedy or real life nightmare you've ever faced was never able to take you out permanently is a miracle.
··· The fact that you were designed to have everything within you to face those challenges? That is a miracle.
·
And so while you may think that praying to God and asking for miracles is an act of devotion and faith, what you're asking for is an insult to who or what created you. It undermines the perfection of your being and the infiniteness of your potential.
By asking for a miracle, by asking for something outside of you, you're denying your own strength, brilliance, wisdom, competence.
You're short-circuiting your internal power source.
You're not giving yourself a chance to expand into the enormity of your being.
·
And so, beautiful creature, a loving suggestion to do with as you will:
Ask that you will be able to see yourself as so many others see you. As the capable, inspiring, resourceful human you are.
Ask that you will be able to trust yourself to face any adversity with grace, gentleness and self-compassion.
Ask that you will be able to see the beauty, the lessons, and the gifts in all of your past missteps & mistakes.
Ask that you be surrounded with people who reflect back the best of your qualities and love you not despite, but because of your less appealing ones.
·
Ask for strength with every inhale.
·
Ask for peace with every exhale.
·
And give thanks for the fact that the miracle has already occurred.
The miracle that's right in front of you… any time you allow yourself to look in the mirror and truly see it.
·
With love from someone who sees the miracle that is you… even without having met you.
