The year is 1962.
John F. Kennedy is in the White House. The country is in the middle of the Cold War. The Cuban Missile Crisis will bring the world closer to nuclear war than it has ever been. The Beatles are still mostly a British phenomenon, Bob Dylan is releasing his first album, and America is changing in ways that are not yet fully obvious.
The original publication of this issue was in October 2023, and at that time I had around 32 subscribers. Looking back at the stats for that issue, more than half of those emails were probably my friends and family.
