Friday Favs for July 24th!

Hi readers! How has your week been? We got hit with unbelievably gorgeous weather this week, and I have been soaking up every minute. I’ve also been cooking out of Caro Chambers’ next cookbook that I was lucky enough to get an early copy of. Preorder it here! Everything I’ve tried is delicious and easy to throw together! Speaking of Caroline, we’re going to be in conversation in Chicago to promote her book on October 21st. Join us!

I am now en route back to the lake for a long weekend! I am so excited! Unlike the 4th, it’s just our little family and my parents, and we have no plans, so I am hoping for lots of time on the porch reading while the waves are lapping (my children may have other plans, as the sun sets at 9 pm in Michigan in the summer!).

This week I finished Kathryn Stockett’s The Calamity Club! Five huge stars from me! Find my full review here, and if you’re an audiobook listener, I encourage you to give that a try. I read the majority of this book but probably listened to 40 minutes of it on audiobook, and I’m glad I did! If you loved the audiobook, I thought this quick 10-minute podcast on casting and producing the audiobook was interesting!

I’m reading our B.R.A.D. Bookclub pick! I might like the hunk on the cover more than I like the MMC in the book! It’s good, it’s just not great (yet!). Review to come at the end of the month!

Ok, get ready to get bored to death about towels!

As promised, I am reporting back on my towels because I love them! Back when I first moved, I desperately needed a towel upgrade, and after polling the BR&B readers, I landed on Frontgate towels. They’re exquisite! They are the nicest towels I’ve ever owned. They’re fluffy and indulgent, and I look forward to using them after every shower. I have and love the bath sheets in Ivory. I will never go back to another towel!

Speaking of towels, I have a Weezie infant towel and a Quince infant towel as part of this bundle, and I’ve washed them both the exact same amount of times, and the Quince towel holds up the best. It’s incredibly soft, so I feel great about wrapping the bambino in it. The washcloths have held up just as well!

This ungodly heat has me reaching for my Ursa Major face wipes more than ever, so I just had to restock them! Back when I went to pilates, I would use this face wipe after a class to freshen up before meeting my husband and kids at a park or grabbing coffee with a friend. It’s great for when you don’t want to leave all that sweat on your skin but don’t have time to run home to wash your face! I like that it doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight, just clean! I also grabbed the eye serum! They had me at “espresso shot for your eyes”!
