won Health & Wellbeing bCreator of the Year at the ITV bCreator Awards 2025. We caught up with David after his win to talk daily habits, content creation and online legacy.
bCreator: What sparked your journey into creating content online?
David: I have always loved writing and have done so for fun since childhood. I started an online blog in university and during 2020, I started posting videos on the same subjects I would write about and around my other passions, never imagining it could become a career.
bCreator: What do you find is the biggest challenge about being a creator?
David: The emotional labour. You have to constantly evaluate what you should hold as important and what you should try to detach yourself from, which can be hard to discern. Equally, the positives of creating - especially full-time - are so rewarding that it’s hard not to be continually grateful for getting to do this as a career.
bCreator: What’s one small daily habit you swear by for your well-being?
David: Not looking at my phone for at least half an hour before I go to bed, and not looking at my phone for at least half an hour when I wake up. The difference it makes to the pace of my thoughts is hugely noticeable.
bCreator: What has been your favourite piece of content you’ve ever created - and why?
David: I shared a poem called ‘I Believe in You’ in late 202, which is now in my debut book Frequently Happy. It was the first truly vulnerable piece of poetry I shared on video platforms and a key catalyst in my understanding of what it was truly like to feel community online.
bCreator: What would you like your online legacy to be?
David: That everything I created, in some way, made people feel better than they did before seeing it.
