Hopes, fears n' good ideas - Aaron

Like the saying goes, this guy’s played more gigs than you’ve had hot lunches.

When I first saw Aaron play live, it was with another fine Waiheke musician Neal Goshal, Aaron laying down a fierce energy, one man blues trance-maker. Neal’s fluid guitar lines skating over this steam train of energy and beat, well it was a winner, everyone up dancing. One new years eve at Charlie Farleys down on the waterfront, he and his mate Dave Alley, another passionate bluesman, collapsed the dance floor, split the joists, on account of the dancing frenzy they’d whipped up. Now that’s class. I’d put that on my CV.

Then there was the story of ‘that’ wedding Aaron and his mates played for down the bottom end. Rock n’ Roll brother. As for living in his bus, well, what a bus. Fully living the life of a troubadour.

Carpenter by name and by trade, he’s been responsible for some creative builds, at one point capitalising on wine barrel availability and making garden furniture. Every musician needs a plan B.

If you want music and people up dancing for your party, he’s your man - but give him some warning, come summer he’s a hard man to book, Aaron gets the gigs.
