So, That Heritage Video

In light of what has happened over the past few days regarding Heritage, I want to share my perspective as a professional in the movement, proud Jew, and above all, an American, on what has transpired over the past several days.

Before sharing my perspective, here is a very brief overview of what happened.

1. Under Roberts’s leadership, Heritage established a relationship with Tucker, including sponsoring his podcast1.

2. Oct. 27, 2025, Tucker releases a podcast episode with Nick Fuentes, a known and, frighteningly popular white nationalist. Heritage starts getting backlash online for the relationship with Tucker.

3. Oct. 30, 2025, Roberts releases a video with phrases including ‘bad actors who serve someone else’s agenda”, “venomous coalition…sowing division” , “What I am not okay with any country coming before the interest of American citizens” Things go downhill from here with conservative public intellectuals and publications criticizing Roberts and Heritage2.

4. Oct. 31, 2025 Roberts shares a Tweet thread, walking back the video, that appears to be a markedly different from voice from the video3.

When I worked at Heritage, it was a great job. My colleagues, for the most part, were lovely people—even if we disagreed on policy. They supported my intellectual growth and foray into writing.

Most importantly, my colleagues were unabashed about one thing: the inherent dignity of every human being—no matter their race, religion, ethnicity, or background—and, of course, equal protection under the law.

I will start by saying that I briefly met Kevin Roberts, and he struck me as kind, bright and seemed to have an exciting vision for Heritage. That said, I don’t know him personally and have not worked for Heritage in years. My intent in writing this is to raise, what I think is, a serious issue in conservatism, not point fingers at one person or any one organization.
