What Explicit Instruction and Worked Examples Look Like in the Classroom

I’m happy to see that there’s lots of talk about what explicit instruction is, and how to implement it. The discussions I’ve been seeing lately disabuse the notion that explicit instruction is the teacher “talking at” the class for forty-five minutes straight, with students sitting passively — no interaction.
