Sunday Sermon Reminders

Matthew R. Perry · Bare Forests

  1. To say we love Christ but refuse to listen to what He teaches in His Word shows we do not love Christ. We cannot make Christ in our own image. He is Lord! He is King!

  2. To say we love Christ but refuse to love His church is like saying you love me but you cannot stand my wife. Anyone who speaks ill of Christ’s bride is a tragedy; for God’s own people to speak ill of His church is unconscionable.

  3. What we learn on Sunday should and must affect our thinking and living Monday through Saturday. Our devotion on Monday through Saturday will affect our level of joy in worshiping Jesus on Sunday.

  4. We should never take for granted, dear Christian, the access we have to the throne. Coming before any dignitary requires a significant protocol for just the basic access. For us, the access to the Father happens thanks to the sacrifice of His Son on the cross on our behalf. Sin prevented the access; Christ atoned for that sin and opened heaven! As we repent of that sin, Christ gives us His righteousness by which we can stand now and stand before Him at the judgment seat.
