Award-winning Filipino entrepreneur and author Lyn Lozano Galicia is bringing the adventures, lessons and memories of her childhood in the Philippines to a new generation with the launch of the Lucky Lyn-Lyn children’s book series.
Published by Alaya Books, under its children’s imprint Alaya Books for Children, the series launches with five books, available in both English and Spanish. Families are invited to celebrate the official launch in Barcelona on Saturday, September 26th. The event will bring the world of Lucky Lyn-Lyn to life and celebrate books, childhood and community.
Little Adventures with Big Lessons
Inspired by Lyn’s real childhood experiences, the Lucky Lyn-Lyn books follow a courageous young girl growing up in the Philippines. Everyday experiences become adventures as Lyn-Lyn learns about friendship, family, honesty, courage, kindness, initiative and believing in herself.
The stories encourage children to discover what they are capable of: to ask questions, try new things, find solutions, help others and see possibilities where they might not have noticed them before. Through this series, young readers encounter important messages about entrepreneurship and teamwork, honesty and generosity, having the courage to ask, adapting to new situations, positive thinking and facing the unknown with curiosity rather than fear.
“Creating Lucky Lyn-Lyn is incredibly close to my heart,” says Lyn. “These stories come from memories of my childhood in the Philippines and the little lessons that stayed with me as I grew up. I’m thrilled to be able to share them with families here in Barcelona and beyond, and especially to create something that can make children feel stronger and dream big. If these books encourage children to be brave, kind, curious and to believe in their own ideas, that means so much to me.”
The launch is also about giving back. A portion of proceeds from the Lucky Lyn-Lyn series will be donated to an orphanage in the Philippines.
Five Books Launching in the Series
The initial Lucky Lyn-Lyn collection introduces young readers to five different adventures, each with its own gentle life lesson:
- Lucky Lyn-Lyn’s Big Idea A story about entrepreneurship, teamwork and having the courage to act on an idea.
- Lucky Lyn-Lyn and the Christmas Coins A Christmas adventure exploring honesty, generosity and why giving can feel even better than receiving.
- Lucky Lyn-Lyn at Big School A story about speaking up, asking questions and discovering that sometimes you never know what is possible until you ask.
- Lucky Lyn-Lyn and the Brown River An island adventure about facing unfamiliar situations, positive thinking and discovering that something that looks difficult at first may be easier than we imagine.
- Lucky Lyn-Lyn and the Halloween Mystery A playful, mysterious adventure that encourages curiosity, courage and imagination when things are not quite what they seem.
The books are designed for young children and families to enjoy together, with colorful illustrations, relatable adventures and positive messages that can open conversations at home and in the classroom.
