As you might have read in previous posts, every summer Barbara takes a “sabbatical” for a month. We put it in quotes because she doesn’t really stop working. But it’s a way for us to create some breathing space for her on the calendar. So we take the month of July off from our normal blog post schedule to create that breathing space for all of us. And it is a good reminder that we all need to create that space in our lives at some point during the year ... maybe more than once!
This month, we thought we would do something fun and pull out some of Barbara’s most popular posts that continue to rise to the top as people search on the internet for answers about the struggles they face in life. In this throwback blog post, Barbara describes the three words of wisdom she shared with her first grandchild who was about to fly the nest. You may be surprised at what she chose—they don’t follow the normal pattern of advice we normally give to high school graduates. I have no idea how this happened, but somehow our first grandchild grew up and is now headed to college. Dennis and I drove to Conway and met him for lunch on Tuesday last week. We’ve never had this much time with just him…ever!
