Opportunities to learn in person around the country via OpenAI Academy & Senior Planet

I wanted to highlight some upcoming in-person training events provided by OpenAI Academy and Senior Planet.

The training will happen across 10 different hubs around the country.

Search for “AI Skills Jam for Older Adults” on the OpenAI Academy site. While you’re there, explore the other offerings.

Attendance is free and you’ll get 12 months free of ChatGPT Plus, which is the first tier of paid subscription.

This is a three-hour session. Since it is sponsored by OpenAI, you would learn how to sign up for ChatGPT and how to use ChatGPT. Don’t expect any discussion of Claude, Perplexity, Gemini or any other models.

I’m not involved in the training mentioned above. My own one-hour “Introduction to Generative AI” in person in Arlington VA is scheduled for October via the Arlington County 55+ program. It’s part of a series of sessions around Digital Literacy scheduled for this fall. More to come soon.
