At Friday’s BFD Community Call, the Transition Council shared the details of the Black Flag DAO membership structure, as well as the transition arrangements for existing Level 1 members and for Level 2 Contributors who are also TLBank-Verified voters.

There are three types of membership which will be implemented over the next couple of months:

• Flag Curious - non-voting members with mostly read-only access to our Discord.

• Flag Raiser - Full access to Discord but limited governance role.

• Flag Bearer - Longer-term members with governance and membership approval responsibilities.

A 'stake' (deposit) in the Black Flag DAO Staking pool is required for Flag Raiser or Flag Bearer membership types. In addition, there is a social consensus layer attached to these memberships.

To recognise existing members, there is the opportunity to join with a lower deposit and assumed social consensus - see the CC slides for eligibility around this but note that this opportunity finishes on March 2, 2025.

The Black Flag Collective is working hard to promote IRL meetups and wants to support event organisers who promote the Black Flag ethos, by way of a retro funding opportunity each month.

Bankless Academy keeps on shipping, and in fact the Transition Council has incorporated a couple of the Academy’s certifications into requirements for new members of Black Flag DAO.

BCard has released an updated version of Taxman which will automatically convert your incoming/outgoing crypto transactions to your local currency (USD, CAD, EUR, GBP or AUD available) and email you a CSV to help make tax time easier.

The CryptoSapiens Social Club has launched on Hypersub with a monthly subscription charge of 0.002 ETH which enables access to a range of digital and in-person experiences.
