These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a misleading spike in value. So trust, but verify.
The deadline grand finale is here! And while it’s fun to see what a trade does to card values, it usually doesn’t last without the performance to back it up.
Because nobody really warns you when a five-dollar autograph is about to become a fifty-dollar autograph. There’s no push notification, no pregame ceremony. Just a box score somewhere in High-A ball quietly rewriting what a piece of cardboard is worth.
Spikes can come from anywhere: a scenario, a tweet, a single loud week that may or may not mean anything six months from now. Short-term blips can cause flips, and that’s the fun of chasing prospects—you’re never really betting on Hall of Fame potential, you’re betting on a version of a story that hasn’t been written yet, one that’s rooted in real performance but could just as easily turn on something that happens tomorrow.
This week’s movers include a few storylines that flipped overnight and a few that just kept grinding, unnoticed, toward the same destination.

1. Conor Essenburg, Atlanta Braves Prospect
Essenburg’s 2025 Bowman Draft #CPA-CE Chrome Prospect Auto (1st) has logged a 285% gain over the past 30 days, with the last sale landing at $50.00 on 8/1 against a 30-day average of just $20.73.
It’s one of the hottest cards out there.
The catalyst is about as loud as it gets for a Single-A bat: Essenburg homered in 3 straight games, blasting three home runs in the third game to extend the streak for Single-A Augusta a few days ago. While he hasn’t homered in the 3 games since, he stays hot with 5 hits in 11 at-bats.
He’s just 19 and won’t turn 20 until September, so this is still very much a projection card, but a three-homer week is exactly the kind of moment that gets a name moving.
