This is not buying or investment advice. I’m simply reporting the data I’m seeing. Please do your own research and make your own decisions. Just because cards have increased in value up to this point, it doesn’t mean they will continue to do so.
I’m getting all of this data from either the Market Movers or Card Hedge platform. These are not my platforms, I’m simply a user and affiliate of them. If you want to do your own research, you can grab a free trial to Market Movers with code BALLCARDGENIUS. You’d also get 20% off of your membership forever if you wanted to continue once your trial has been completed. You can also grab a free trial for Card Hedge as well.
These tools aren’t perfect; no tool is. I’ve seen instances where a graded card was being included in the raw numbers, which might cause a misleading spike in value. So trust, but verify.
I like this one.
I like them all, but some I like better than others.
Every single card in this issue has a story behind it this week—no mystery spikes, no unexplained buying. Between a 32-year-old chasing the home run title, a rookie catcher getting called the best in baseball, and four different minor leaguers who just kept mashing, this was a loud week across the board.
Side note: remember when every issue seemed to feature at least three left-handed pitchers?
All bats, baby.
1. Carson Roccaforte, Kansas City Royals Prospect
Roccaforte’s 2023 Bowman Draft #CDA-CR Chrome Prospect Auto (1st) is up 435% over 30 days, with the last sale at $13.49 on 8/13 against an $11.05 average.
Roccaforte just keeps hitting. He has reached 30 home runs on the season in Double-A Northwest Arkansas. He’s now Rule 5 eligible this offseason, which could force Kansas City’s hand on adding him to the 40-man roster before some other team scoops him up. [Source]
