Free time should feel like relief, but for many people it does not.
The work stops. The responsibilities slow down. The day finally gives you a little space. Yet instead of feeling restored, you feel strangely restless. You sit down and immediately reach for the phone. You open one app, then another. You watch something while checking something else. You tell yourself you are resting, but your attention keeps moving as if the day never really ended.
This is one of the quiet problems of modern life. People have free time, but they do not always have recovery. They have entertainment, but not always restoration. They have distraction, but not always relief that reaches the body. They stop working, but the mind continues receiving, switching, comparing, reacting, and processing. The activity has changed, but the nervous system has not fully changed state.
