The do part = do

The fear part = give to God

I thought of this as I was talking to a friend recently and felt it was significant.

Simple. I am a big fan of simple.

If God is calling you to do something. Then…

The do part = do

The fear part = give to God

However…doesn’t it always come down to this. The however

I feel I give way too much power to however.

However, Simple doesn’t equate to easy. Quite the opposite is occurring.

If God is calling me to do something, and I am trying to the best of my ability to do my do part and repeatedly the door isn’t opening, what does that mean?

Does that mean that what I have been thinking that God wants is actually not what God wants?

Does that mean I am supposed to keep trying until God opens the door?

Does that mean I take a pause and wait for God to clarify what He wants because maybe I’m getting it wrong?

I can assure you I have been earnestly praying and seeking God’s will on this matter consistently…for years. Yes, years…

This is likely going to be one of those entries that has lots of questions and perhaps no answers (insert sad face here).

So then the question becomes, what do I do?

I enjoy doing.

Doing is moving forward.

What I don’t like is not doing.

Not doing is waiting. I loathe waiting. Waiting is torment. Waiting isn’t easy. Waiting tests my faith.

Adding to this unpleasant experience is waiting to me seems complacent. Am I just supposed to do nothing while I wait?

Doing what I deem as nothing is a battle for me.

But what I deem as doing nothing, perhaps God deems as something.

God could very well be accomplishing quite a bit while I wait. The problem is I can’t always see what in the world could be being accomplished by doing nothing.

Perhaps saying nothing is the real issue. It’s not nothing. Praying is not nothing. Seeking is not nothing. Reading God’s Word is not nothing. Surely I’m growing in my walk with God which is not nothing. Assumably, God is teaching me things and that is not nothing.

I just made a whole list of things that are not nothing. And I could add to it as well.

So what does all this mean in regards to the original point? (yes, there was one if you search diligently for it)(insert smile here)

My conclusion is…

I am doing my part then.

Ok good. But then why doesn’t it feel good? I guess it’s just my mindset of:

Doing = success

And my definition of success is achieving the goal. I don’t consider waiting achieving what I have deemed to be the goal.

However, God’s goals are not necessarily my goals. God’s ways are not necessarily my ways.

Hmmmmmmm interesting. I was going to put Isaiah 55:8-9 which certainly applies, but then this verse popped out at me as I went to look through my verses book.

1 Peter 4:19 So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.

Fascinating. I find it absolutely mind blowing that as I write, God speaks to me.

Praise Jesus. Thank you God and Amen. What a relief. I can stop thinking so much about it now. This feels so much better. A weight has been lifted. Thank you and goodbye to it. Feels freeing. Feels good. Feels amazing.

I am to keep doing what is right and trusting God.

Which is how I attempt to live as I learn to follow God.

So we have come full circle and this entry has an answer! Victory!

Keep doing what is right and trusting God.

In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen

However…I must remember the do part is there yes, but there’s also the and trusting God part.

That is CRITICAL.

Trusting God.

Period.

This verse is coming to mind.

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

God’s Word.

To me faith and trust are connected. So I am to diligently be in God’s Word to keep building my faith and trust.

Do continue to read God’s Word.

Yes. Yes I can and yes I will. This is also a great comfort to me. Feels reassuring. That Yes…

Yes, I am doing my part.

Praise you God for helping me as I write!

In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen

So perhaps I should change the title of this entry.

I am doing my part.

So here it is.
