Hi Hat Heads!

We are thrilled to share new music with you today! The debut album from the new band we share with our friend Elana (aka Party Nails) is available now for your listening pleasure. We believe it will be the perfect soundtrack for these precious remaining weeks of summertime sun and frolic.

This musical adventure began at our house in Saint Paul in November of 2022. We exchanged voice memos and lyric scribblings from our notebooks. We shared cheese curds and donuts and walks to the grocery store. We watched Josie & the Pussycats. We named ourselves Megasound.

Over the next three years, we traveled between Saint Paul and Los Angeles to write and record our songs. We opened for Letters to Cleo. We played college campuses and rock clubs. We bought matching outfits.

And now our album is finally out in the world! We are so happy that the songs are now yours, beloved Hat Heads. Writing and sharing myself via Bad Bad Hats is an amazing privilege and source of immense pride and satisfaction for me. But before I found my artistic and physical “voice”, as it were, my dream was always to be a songwriter in the background, to offer my songs to great vocalists and performers. To collaborate with Chris and Elana is so inspiring and to hear my words and melodies through the vessel of Elana’s voice, which is so riveting and beautiful, is an incredible joy for me.
