Sometimes when it’s hot like this, I’m taking two showers a day minimum. Other times I really lean into the sticky and the sweaty. Today is the latter. Variety was only playing Iceage and King Krule this morning so maybe that’s why I’ve got the grit within today. I just got off my bike to type this out on my stoop and I’m wiping the grease from my chain off of my shins and I’m gonna go for another ride in a bit. Biking through the stiff hot air with my headphones in feels like god. I’m feeling really good about sitting around at Baby’s this week drinking Jarritos and letting the hot New York summer permeate. If you wanna do that too, you know where to find me. - Caroline

MONDAY:
EARLY: EARTH TO EVE (7:00PM) <AA>
Angsty, sort of humorous, political commentary-laden pop music from Eve, whose recent single is a little Olivia Rodrigo-esque. Only a handful of tix left for tonight! - Caroline
TUESDAY:
EARLY: ELIJAH WOODS (6:30PM) <AA>
Big numbers on this hit. Easy listening lo-fi pop music that could only be Canadian. Tunes are summery in nature, perfect for the sweltering Tuesday we’ve got ahead. BTW we have blendies. - Caroline
LATE: LORD SKO & STATIK SELEKTAH (9:30PM) <18+>
NY legend Statik Selektah and Uptown rapper Lord Sko (his protege of sorts) take the stage tomorrow night in celebration of Sko’s debut album, produced entirely by Statik. The result of said collaboration is a collection of 10 boom bap tracks that feel primed for a NY summer - Eli
multi-generational legends celebrating their wonderful new record ELEVATOR MUSIC. Lord Sko a wonderful fresh face in New York’s hip-hop scene and Statik Selektah is beyond needing introduction. Don’t miss this one Brooklyn … - Oscar
For all my rap lovers: Lord Sko & Statik Selektah bring a night of sharp lyricism, classic NY hip-hop and laid back late night energy. Expect smooth production, heavy grooves, and a set rooted in timeless rap sounds. We love the classics. - Manny
WEDNESDAY:
EARLY: AMBAR LUCID (7:00PM) <18+>
Ambar Lucid has crafted a dreamy, bilingual psych-pop discography which wonderfully captures the essence of modern spiritual freedom. Her music abolishes the boundaries of language with English verses melting into Spanish refrains and vice versa without hesitation. - Baby Intern Ava
Ambar Lucid blends dreamy pop, alternative sounds, and bilingual songwriting into a live show that feels warm, personal, and immersive. Her genre-crossing style moves easily between soft melodies and brighter, upbeat moments. Plus an opening set from Judith! I personally love her song TUSI. - Manny
THURSDAY:
EARLY: BROTHERTIGER & HOTEL POOLS (7:00PM) <21+>
Chillwave-experimental synthpop that I think this iconic figure could get down with. Trance sort of tunes, maybe bring sunglasses and whatever gets you into that zone and fade into the background for a bit. Might be nice. - Caroline
FRIDAY:
EARLY: REDEYE (7:00PM) <18+>
Redeye is bringing the kind of energy that makes you wanna close your eyes and dance around with your friends all through the night. Check out this video they made for their new song how it ends! They will also be joined on this night by the fabulous Nate Livingston along with the grungy and unforgettable Verna Codeine. - Ava
LATE: PERFECTLY IMPERFECT PRESENTS: TRINITY ACE, SUPERFAN, OLDSTAR + MORE (10:00PM) <21+>
Recently coming from SF, Trinity Ace and Double Helix Peace Treaty are near and dear to me and I can’t wait to see em on this coast for this crazy ass bill (courtesy of Perfectly Imperfect). Double Helix have been steady releasing some of my favorite psychedelic freak-folk / americana (with production help from Dutch Interior’s Connor Reeves) and Trinity just released her sprawling debut EP Learning to Be a Cowboy on The Horse That Broke My Arm on Friday, which I still found time to listen to despite Drake's new albums being on repeat all weekend - Eli
Trinity Ace, Oldstar, Superfan, Double Helix Peace Treaty, and Christopher Emond all on this bill presented by Perfectly Imperfect. Friscochella. I’ll speed run my thoughts on each of these. Trinity’s song Algae Bloom nested itself deep into my chest the first time I heard it. Olstar are one of the few doing alt-country correctly. Superfan put on a perfect trio setup live show and are on their way to big things. DHPT are releasing sludged out folk on American Death (shouts to President of the United States Nick Noneman). Chris Emond has been churning out tunes on his own for serval years + now runs a tape label out of our backyard, this song stays with me. - Caroline
SATURDAY:
EARLY: SAYAKO (6:30PM) <18+>
this is one hyper-internet line-up. A shock to the system that some of these artists are real but you get to see them in the flesh this weekend at Baby’s All Right. It’s gonna be colourful, eclectic, strange, and a lot of fun. - Oscar
LATE: BABY DANCE (11:00PM) <21+>
Big’n that comes from mover + shaker, and loyal Baby Chain holder, Dylan Smith. Brand New Companion (coming to town from Boise), Tracey Nelson, and God’s Country on stage + a good mix of djs up front. Tracey’s upcoming record was produced by MJ Lenderman, and singles have been dancing around my headphones. God’s Country is a country rock band from New York City baby. Free forever, Yes? - Caroline
and, just for fun, a new one from Zastava, who have never once disappointed.
