Al Rescha (aka Alrescha, Alrischa) is the alpha star of constellation Pisces, currently projected at 29° tropical Aries.
[Note: this is a long post with a plethora of examples, more than usual which I guess is saying something. I would say I’m sorry, but truthfully I’m not, as this was a treat to research, and has profoundly renewed my appreciation for Al Rescha!]
Pisces: the constellation
Tropical Aries overlaps with the constellation we know as Pisces—not to be confused with Pisces Austrinus, which is Fomalhaut’s constellation.
Pisces is made of two distinct fishes, tied together by Al Rescha, also known as Alrescha, Alrischa, or Alrisha, deriving from Arabic الرشآء ar-Rishā’ meaning the cord1.
As you can see above, Al Rescha is located below the ecliptic, right near the boundary of tropical Taurus. This star is considered as the knot tying together the fishes. As such, this star is delineated by Bernadette Brady as bridging together different elements—philosophies, disciplines, worldviews, etc. There may be an ability to bring together people from different walks of life, or a proclivity to innovate with an interdisciplinary approach, etc.
