Hello, lovely reader!

I hope you and those you love are happy, safe, and well. I'm praying for God's peace and love to rest on the world, and on you, too, especially in these troubled times.

All went well last Thursday with our travel. Hubby and I swapped places without any distress for the cats. I flew back to the UK on the early evening flight, he flew to Bulgaria on the same plane when it returned home 30 minutes later. He’s so happy to be there, enjoying the kittens. And though I miss our Bulgarian house and my friends there, I’m fine to be back in the UK with our cats here (most of the time at least three are on or near me), and to have access to my laptop so I could finish some work that my tablet just wasn’t handling!

The only glitch has been that the first morning back, I broke a back tooth on a chocolate chip in my breakfast yoghurt! I never imagined a chocolate chip could do that, but it did! Good thing there’s an excellent new dental clinic opened in our town who could see me promptly. The tooth is now an ex-tooth, as it wasn’t salvageable and had to be extracted. Not a good experience for me or the dentist — I have difficult dental anatomy and I gave her quite a challenge! But we both survived!

And on to the book news! Quite a lot this week, with books from my closest author friends!

I was devastated when my dear author friend Marion Ueckermann passed away suddenly from Covid in 2021. Born just days apart, we’d worked together closely on several group projects, collapsed in laughter together during so many fun late night brainstorming sessions, and she’d been like a sister to me! I still miss her so much.

She’d mentioned she had a book she wanted to publish, The Piano, a story close to her heart as the first story she ever wrote. But writing and publishing over twenty other sweet and clean Christian romances got in the way of those hopes and she never did get time to do the edits the story needed. So I was honored when earlier this year her family asked for my help in getting the book published.

It’s now finally available for readers — it launched today in ebook (to buy or in Kindle Unlimited), paperback, and digitally-voiced audiobook!

A couple of reader responses:

★★★★★ LOVED this book!! It's hard to believe that this was the first book Marion Ueckermann wrote!! It would have made a great debut for her! However, it's still a wonderful book, and I'm so glad that her family has decided to publish it posthumously. (Trudy)

★★★★★ A tender and uplifting faith filled book well worth reading. (Sandra)

I hope you feel the same about this can’t-put-it-down story combining faith, a mystery, and sweet and swoony romance!

Dear friend Alexa Verde is offering readers a gift on Amazon until tomorrow! Sweet Beginnings is an ebook set of five of her series-starter small-town romances, including reunion, single dad cowboys, marriage of convenience, fake dating, neighbors to love, and more, plus plenty of humor and danger! She intends to unpublish this set soon, so don’t miss the chance to get it while it’s f-r-e-e!

Lovely friend Rose Fresquez has reduced Yours Blindly, a clean, faith-based enemies-to-love office romance of forgiveness and redemption, to 99c in the US, only till May 22. I haven’t read this one yet, but I’ve loved all of Rose’s books I’ve read so far, and I’m sure this will be a wonderful read!

Here are the new f-r-e-e additions for my to-be-read library this week! No-cost this morning on Amazon but prices do change so be sure to check before hitting the buy button! All should be clean and faith-friendly, but as I haven’t read any of these stories yet, I hope I haven’t missed anything I wouldn’t normally choose to share!

  • Christmas Miracle for Two by Kayla Lowe is a sweet older-couple Christian romance;

  • Target for Terror by Laura Scott is Christian romantic suspense;

  • Forsaken by Terry Toler is also Christian romantic suspense;

  • Joint Venture by Elizabeth Maddrey is an uplifting Christian friends-tolove romance;

  • Where Promises Remain by Heidi Chiavoroli is sure to be a lovely story, but check the price! It was no-cost on Amazon UK this morning, but though it’s on the f-r-e-e bestseller list in the US it’s showing as full-price there!

CLEAN FIRST RESPONDER OR MILITARY ROMANCES

This group promo features a selection of sweet and clean romances, each with a main character who is either a first responder or military/ ex-military. Includes my books Cherish Me (small-town reunion romance, with a cop hero), His Healing Touch (wounded warrior), and Brett: Her Bodyguard (ex-military).

CLEAN & CHRISTIAN FRIENDS-TO-LOVE ROMANCES

This group promo showcases clean romances where friendship become more, and includes From Friends to Forever, an ebook set containing all my friends-to-love romances!

Though the organisers specified that all books should be genuinely clean, I can’t say for sure they all are (there’s currently one book included that I definitely wouldn’t recommend and have reported), so please choose carefully!

Of course, it’s the adorable Bulgarian kittens again this week! Though the pics hubby sent are a bit blurry, at five weeks old, the babies are so cute! He reports not only can they now climb on the bed so he has to share it with four babies at night, Squeak has discovered his beard makes a nice nest to sleep in! I would love a photo of that! Instead, here’s Maxie, the biggest of the four, allowed to get in bad habits already, sitting on the kitchen table!

And this is Pickle, the tiniest one (that blur in the middle, so much smaller than his big sister!), the first to learn to eat for himself by copying mom:

The vet has been to visit this week and has given both the mother cats contraceptive injections, so much as we love kittens, God willing these will be the only ones born at our house this year.

This week's randomly chosen ebook winners are Barb, Megan, Dolores, Lin, and Betty. If your first name or the name in your email address matches one of the winners' names in the list above, reply letting me know which of my solo ebooks (sorry, sets are not included) you'd like as a free Bookfunnel download. You can see them all here. His Tender Mercy and Heart in Hiding aren't yet released, so if you opt for one of these, you'll be added to a wait list and get a copy when your choice is finally reader-ready.

This week's give.away — five subscribers who click any link in this email by Sunday, May 24, 2026 will be randomly chosen to win their choice of my ebooks and will be named in next week's newsletter.

Until next week, I'm praying you and those you love are happy and healthy, with many precious moments of peace and joy to brighten your days.

Blessings, and happy reading,

"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." Psalm 4:8

God alone is the source of true safety! David probably wrote this while he was in true danger, yet he relied on God enough to be able to lie down and sleep. I love that no matter what we’re facing today, we can trust in Him to bring us through it!
