Hello, lovely reader!

I hope you and those you love are happy, safe, and well. I'm praying for God's peace and love to rest on the world, and on you, too, especially in these troubled times.

Well, my plans have not gone to plan! I’d intended to send this newsletter two days late because I’d be travelling today and tomorrow. Well, nope! Seems I’m not going anywhere yet.

My lovely neighbour and I returned from our week long mud-treatment-and-physiotherapy rehab stay on the coast just before lunchtime yesterday. And as soon as I opened the door, in marched the mother cat who had her kittens on the kitchen porch while hubby was last here, then moved them to a closed off section of the barn two days later. No problem there, I don’t mind Little Girl coming inside. The problem was the almost-two-weeks old kitten dangling from her mouth, and her insistence the kitten belonged on my bed!

I tried moving it to the porch, but she was determined. It was my bed or nowhere. As the afternoon progressed, three more kittens joined the first one. And no sooner had she moved the last kitten than it started to rain, torrential at times! Plus, where she’d hidden them requires a five foot jump up, both ways, to get over the door, and she probably needed to move them before they got too big for her to carry while jumping. I’d tried leaving the barn door open, but she wasn’t at all happy, the closed door and big jump was chosen to keep her babies safe. This mother knows what she’s doing.

So, with my bed taken over by cats and the other bedrooms either too cold or not ready to sleep in yet, guess who is sleeping on a folded mattress pad on the floor? And who had to cancel her very early morning flight tomorrow?

And on to the book news! There’s not all that much!

I wrote more on The Reluctant Princess, a childhood friends/marriage of convenience romance, which I hope to launch over the summer. And now I need to switch gears to work on final edits and paperback formatting for The Piano, an amazing romance with adventure and mystery by Marion Ueckermann, which I’m publishing for her family in mid-May. Sadly Marion, a gifted writer and very close friend, passed away during the worst of the COVID epidemic, so wasn’t able to revise edit, and publish the story herself.

Here are the new f-r-e-e additions for my to-be-read library this week! No-cost this morning on Amazon but prices do change so be sure to check before hitting the buy button! All should be clean and faith-friendly, but as I haven’t read any of these stories yet, I hope I haven’t missed anything I wouldn’t normally choose to share!

  • Defending Honor by Kelly Underwood & Lynnette Eason is Christian romantic suspense;

  • River Steps Free by Lisa Buffaloe is one I think I’ve shared before, but just in case you missed it, it’s a Christian contemporary romance of healing and forgiveness;

  • Faithful in Love by Cecily K. Wolfe is Christian historical romance;

  • Grave Pursuits by Elle E. Kay is a second chance Christian romantic suspense;

  • Since the Day We Wished by Kerk Murray is an older couple second chance romance, probably no real faith content, but should be clean.

And not exactly an addition to my TBR list, but a reminder that if you don’t have a copy of my accidental false impressions/ antagonists-to-love romance, Imperfectly Proverbs 31, you can get a copy F_R_E_E on Amazon until May 2. I hope you enjoy this faith-filled, heartwarming and funny summer read!

CLEAN & CHRISTIAN ROMANCES

This group promo includes a selection of over 60 sweet and clean romances, each available to buy on Amazon or to read in Kindle Unlimited! Includes my enemies-to-love ebook collection, This Can’t be Love.

All my books are currently in Kindle Unlimited, and if you don’t have it but want to find out more (plus get a free trial subscription where you can read as many books in KU as you want!) click here.

Though the organiser specified that all books should be genuinely clean, I can’t say for sure they all are, so please choose carefully!

Here are the mob who have pushed me out of my bed and given me a good excuse to stay at the Bulgarian house longer. I was sad to have to leave so soon after getting back from the coast, but I never expected to get to extend my stay this way!

Four adorable tiny kittens, exactly two weeks old, and their mother, Little Girl. I’m praying all four of these babies make it. Two are very small, and I gave them a supplementary feed earlier. It’s best they get it from their mother, but the bigger ones weren’t giving the little guys a chance to suckle.

This week's randomly chosen ebook winners are Lisa, Nancy, Patty, Ruth, and Vera. If your first name or the name in your email address matches one of the winners' names in the list above, reply letting me know which of my solo ebooks (sorry, sets are not included) you'd like as a free Bookfunnel download. You can see them all here. His Tender Mercy and Heart in Hiding aren't yet released, so if you opt for one of these, you'll be added to a wait list and get a copy when your choice is finally reader-ready. This week's give.away — five subscribers who click any link in this email by Sunday, May 3, 2026 will be randomly chosen to win their choice of my ebooks and will be named in next week's newsletter. (How can it be May so soon!)

Until next week (who knows where I’ll be then!), I'm praying you and those you love are happy and healthy, with many precious moments of peace and joy to brighten your days.

Blessings, and happy reading,

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

A good verse to lean on when things don’t go as we planned. He will lead us through.
