Waymo Removes Waitlist in LA

Guess what? Anyone can ride in LA now!

Before today, Waymo's autonomous rideshare service, Waymo One, had quite a lengthy waitlist in Los Angeles. You could download the app and join the waitlist (and cross your fingers), or you could find a kind friend or stranger who was both already off the list, and willing to give you one of their six available invite codes. These were so saught after, that a black market underworld developed on some online forums, where people would actually pay for a code. Crazy.

These days are no more! Waymo have been diligently scaling up their fleet and depots to allow this incredible moment to happen. Go and try it out for yourself if you haven't already - everyone's first ride is always magical.
