Believe it or not, it’s been ten years already since an Orange County-based company called Super73 has been taking the world by storm with a very rich range of electric bikes. And that range has grown even richer, thanks to the launch of an entirely new series of bikes.
At the time of writing, the company offers two-wheelers grouped in three series, the Z, S, and R, intended for noobs, urban adventures, and trips in the wild, respectively. The A-Series, which was announced this week, somehow captures the essence of all the others, while offering new kinds of hardware all around.
The company describes this collection as the first one the brand has ever offered to incorporate secondary, modular battery technology, but also a complete redesign of everything from the frame to the technology that goes into them.
Moreover, there are also two new sizing platforms born with this family, with a seat height of 30 and 33 inches, respectively, and two new Special Editions meant to increase the appeal of the range. And at the center of it all is the Super73-MZFT that was introduced in the fall of last year.
“The A-Series is the distillation of a decade of fierce individualism into a community-driven movement,” said Travis Erwin, Super73 CEO. “As SUPER73 approaches ten years of innovation, this next evolution reasserts our brand as the true original in electric mobility.”
“Each model in this new rollout has been crafted as a reflection of years of unapologetic expansion and experimentation, in an effort to resonate with those who strive to do the same.”
In a nutshell, the A-Series comprises a total of six e-bikes, ranging from the entry-level Super73-MZFT I mentioned above, the smallest of the bunch and ideal for shorter riders, to the Super73-B1G SE that throws in an all-new digital display screen.
In between these two, the company throws in a special edition of the MZFT, carrying new colors, a larger battery, adjustable front suspension, and an all-new display, the Super73-M1D with a 30-inch seat height, the corresponding special edition of this machine, and the standard Super73-B1G with a 33-inch seat height, tailored for use in the hands of taller people.
Super73 says these six new e-bikes are already available to order, but, try as I might, I was unable to locate them on the company’s website – we will keep an eye out and update this story when something changes. Luckily, we do know how much each of them will cost, so we don’t have to worry about that. The complete list of prices is shown below.
