Sitting proudly in the inventory of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Garage Kept Motors, this 1968 Dodge Charger R/T is a "Resto with the right amount of Mod," at least according to the classic car dealership.

The Dodge Charger nameplate has been around since 1966, and it has lived no less than eight lives across as many generations. However, some of them are more easily recognizable than others.

Today everyone knows the STLA Large-based Dodge Charger may be inspired by the past as far as the retro-modern styling is concerned, but few people love it much, even though it has returned to the fastback coupe lifestyle alongside the four-door sedan body style. That’s probably because Stellantis killed off the Hemi V8 heart and left it soulless – at least according to detractors.

On the other hand, the first, second, and third iterations are easily recognizable as some of the most beloved among classic car enthusiasts, and with the restomod trend currently skyrocketing faster than SpaceX crafts, it’s pretty clear that its legend continues to grow. But there’s no need to take our word for granted, so here’s an eloquent example.

So, this is a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T that presents itself as “an exceptional blend of iconic Mopar styling and modern high-performance engineering,” all thanks to the classic styling and the full custom restoration by the Hot Rod Factory in Minnesota. Finished in “an unmistakable black-over-black color combination, this Charger delivers the aggressive presence expected from a classic R/T while incorporating a carefully selected array of upgrades designed to make it as exciting to drive as it is to look at.”

The build has only 1,478 miles on the odometer, and the modern features include a Hellcat 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission featuring a pistol-grip shifter, a 10-bolt rear end, Viking Performance dampers and four-wheel disc brakes, plus staggered US Mag wheels. All in all, the exterior is cleanly finished, and the interior only hints at the modern performance – until you raise the hood and see the Hellcat monster.

All in all, the “clean custom finish and purposeful upgrades give this Charger a distinctly modern attitude without sacrificing the unmistakable silhouette and proportions of the original B-body,” and inside there are aftermarket gauges, black leather upholstery, power windows, Vintage Air conditioning, and more. Of course, these restomods aren’t cheap.

More precisely, the dealership wants no less than $239,900, and the offer is very fresh, since they uploaded the walkaround video on YouTube less than two weeks ago and then decided to further promote it on Instagram a couple of days ago. However, these restomods go fast out of the garage, and the company now displays a massive ‘sale pending’ banner on the landing page, signaling that someone may have already decided to make it their dream Mopar ride this summer.
