Memorial Day Weekend

Hi, y’all,

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial beginning of summer around here. The days are longer, the smell of barbecue drifts through the backyard, baseball season is in full swing, and suddenly everyone’s ready for sunshine, road trips, and nights spent outdoors.

This year, the weekend feels even more special because it’s also my birthday weekend! 🎂🎉🎈

I’m fully embracing the excuse to celebrate all my favorite things: sunshine, good food, summer playlists, baseball, and of course… books. (Maybe even Interviewing Michael by Desiree Span or one of the books from the group promo’s below.) Honestly, I plan to spend most of the weekend reading outside with an iced tea while my husband smokes chicken wings. That sounds pretty perfect to me.

Memorial Day is also a time to pause and remember the people who made incredible sacrifices in service to this country. Amid the celebrations and long weekend fun, it’s important to hold space for gratitude too.
