Hi y’all

Even though Shootout came out a while ago, Josie and Evan have never really left me. I poured so much of myself into this story: the fear of wanting more, the ache of almost losing your safest person, the hope that love can survive the leap.

Josie’s moment of truth still hits me every time I think about it. She’s tired of pretending, tired of watching Evan drift in and out of other girls’ lives while she quietly holds his together. Writing her confession felt like standing on the edge of a cliff with her.

And Evan… he never expects it. He’s built his whole world around Josie without realizing it, and when she finally speaks her truth, he has to decide whether he’s brave enough to fight for something real.

This book is quick, emotional, and full of that tender, terrifying shift from friendship to love. If you’re in the mood for a heartfelt sports romance with a lot of vulnerability tucked between the lines, Shootout is waiting for you.

I hope you feel every beat of their story the way I did while writing it.

After you read Shootout, check out For the Captain by Jenny Redford. Jordan and Charlotte spark with the kind of chemistry that makes you root for them from page one. A heartfelt, high‑heat hockey romance where second chances, fresh starts, and unexpected love collide in the best way. Get your copy here!

Happy Reading,

Lynn
