Happy Tuesday!
The summer of festivals continues. The Great Race came through the St. Louis area. They’re racing along Route 66. I had never heard of this before, but it was so much fun. There are racers from all over the USA and teams from Japan, Canada, and England. It’s like a real-life, slower, more controlled Cannonball Run. (I love that movie.)
We walked around the car show and waited for the racers to roll into town. There were more Corvettes there than on a dealer’s lot. I’m not a car person but seeing these old vehicles brings a sense of nostalgia for days gone by. If it’s coming near you, I highly recommend catching a glance of these racers on the highway or when they roll into the next town.
It’s officially summer now, and the Midwest heat has added the normal, lovely humidity. The severe weather has fortunately missed us at least. I’ve been sitting on the front porch when it rains and storms, enjoying the fresh air and the rumbling thunder. It’s a great time to read.
