Where has the iced banana bread latte been my whole life?
As both a self-proclaimed coffee ho and banana slut, I’m honestly offended that no one introduced me to this sooner. ☕🍌 Thankfully, I’ve more than made up for it over the past few weeks by drinking my way through a (concerning?) number of iced banana bread lattes.

Another fun discovery in Boise? A new-to-me tattoo artist. Gage, from Ink Spa Tattoo, exceeded all of my expectations with this one, and inked version of my Grandma Reynolds’ Victorian—the house where my dad and his siblings grew up.
I’m absolutely in love with the finished product and yes, I may or may not already been planning another visit for more ink.
As I write this, I’ve got two more nights in Boise, one more load of laundry to do, and tickets to see Idaho Shakespeare Festival’s production of Sweeney Todd.
Oh, and an outline to finish for my next book, but I’m not ready to talk about that just yet… 😉

Like many travelers, one of the things I always seek out when I’m on the road is an independent bookstore.
And if there’s an all romance bookstore? Even better.
Thankfully, it seems like a new romance bookstore is popping up every month these days, many of them with their own hook and niche.
In fact, according to Lady Jane’s latest Romancing the Data report, there are now “289 physical romance bookstores in 12 countries around the world, 205 (or 71%) of which are in the United States.”
One of which is Hearts on Fire Books, located in downtown Boise, Idaho.
Sami, the owner, was nice enough to host me for an afternoon, in-store signing event while I was in town. It was so great meeting everyone who came by the store, many of whom were travelers themselves!
And an extra special shoutout to the two women who purchased copies of Hit it and Quit it, took them to the sushi bar to read, and then returned an hour later to buy the rest of the Rose City Roasters series. It’s reader interactions like that that make the entire writing process worth it.
