❄️ The first snow of the year changed everything, including the boots I thought were waterproof! Ugh! Looks like I’m digging out my old never-fails-me Sorels. They aren’t sexy–but they keep my feet dry!
🥾 With warm boots and a shed of firewood, we are officially in full cozy winter mode! We’re surrounded by the crisp smell of pine and the comforting sight of the first real snow coating the world in a clean white blanket—it’s the perfect excuse to finally wear my ridiculously fuzzy socks (btw I have way too many pairs for one person)! 😉
Guess what I’ve been up to? I’m (Melody) in charge of Thanksgiving desserts this year, which means my favorite nanaimo bars are making an appearance, alongside the classic pumpkin and apple pie. Harmony, meanwhile, is focusing her talents on her world-famous mashed potatoes. Don’t let the name fool you—they are 90% butter and cheese, 10% actual potato. Delicious, yes, but we might need a snowshoe marathon after dinner!
