At this time of year, I find myself doing a lot of little in-between things.
Walking from one place to another.
Tidying up the kitchen (again).
Taking a quick drive that somehow turns into three errands and a snack stop.
And lately, I’ve been thinking…
What if a story could slip into those moments?
Not instead of reading—because there’s nothing better than curling up with a good book—but *alongside* it. Filling in the quiet spaces. Keeping you company when your hands are busy but your mind is wandering.
That’s the magic of audiobooks.
And this week, it feels especially fitting.
Because *Tangled Trust*—my story about heartbreak, second chances, and learning to trust again (with a little help from a golden retriever, of course)—is on sale in audiobook.
And I’ll be honest… this story hits a little differently when you hear it.
There’s something about the emotion in a narrator’s voice—the pauses, the quiet moments, the way certain lines linger just a second longer—that pulls you deeper into the story.
The hurt feels closer.
The hope feels brighter.
And the golden retriever moments? Even sweeter.
If you’ve never tried an audiobook before, this is your gentle nudge.
You don’t need extra time.
You don’t need a special setup.
Just press play.
Listen while you’re:
—Taking a walk (highly recommended—especially with a dog)
—Cooking dinner
—Driving
—Or just sitting with a cup of tea, letting the story unfold around you
If you’ve been even a little curious about audiobooks, consider this your invitation to try something new.
And if you already love them… well, this one might just be your next listen.
1 YEAR Anniversary SALE - TANGLED TRUST
A note from a Small-Town Detective Dog (from the Cooking Club Murder Mysteries)
Hello!
Tango here on Audiobooks.
If your human says they are “too busy to read,” this is suspicious.
There is always time for a good story.
I have observed that audiobooks solve this problem.
You may walk. You may cook. You may investigate the refrigerator… all while the story continues.
Very efficient.
A few professional tips:
—Choose a story with heart (and preferably a dog)
—Go for a walk while listening—this improves both mood and sniffing opportunities
—Do not skip the emotional parts. These are important for bonding
—If you gasp out loud, I will assume danger and be ready
Final note:
If your walk takes twice as long because you need to “hear what happens next,” I fully support this decision.
—Detective Tango 🐾
I hope you’re finding a few cozy moments this week—whether that’s with a book in your hands or a story in your ears. Let me know what you’re reading (or listening to).
Happy sleuthing,
💙 Emmie
