No joke…
It’s the beginning of my Accidental Ghost Detective series.
When Nikki Knight returns to her quirky hometown of Frog Hollow, she expects a little chaos. Maybe even a ghost or two. But she doesn’t expect a haunted mansion, a suspicious death, and a very chatty dachshund who may be hiding more than he’s telling.
What if a dog really could talk?
Not just bark at suspicious strangers or wag his tail when something seemed off. What if he could actually tell his person exactly what he was thinking?
That’s how Prince Dasher Dangerdog Bean—Dash for short—came to life. He’s a royal dachshund with opinions, attitude, and just enough secrets to get his human into serious trouble.
Of course, giving a dachshund the ability to talk comes with consequences.
He has thoughts about everyone.
He has theories about every mystery.
He believes his detective skills are severely underappreciated.
And he’s always convinced he deserves another treat.
After Dash came into my life, I sthought about all the pets I’ve known over the years. Every pet owner has probably looked at their dog or cat and thought...
“I wish you could tell me what you’re thinking.”
Then again...maybe that’s a dangerous wish.
What if your dog confessed to having a secret buddy visit when you’re away for the day, raiding the cupboard and watching T.V.?
What if your cat admitted they knock things off shelves simply because it’s entertaining? (Not sure they’d have to admit that, though. Don’t we know it’s true?)
Or what if they quietly informed you they solved the mystery three chapters ago?
This week, I’m celebrating Dash and my Accidental Ghost Detective series.
Book 1 - Scent and a Suspect is FREE!
The next three books in the series will be discounted later this week, so it’s the perfect time to visit Moonlight Mansion, meet Dash, and see why sometimes the ghost isn’t the strangest resident in the house.
ACCIDENTAL GHOST DETECTIVE SERIES
Would you want your pet to be able to talk?
🐾 Absolutely! I want to know everything they’re thinking.
🐾 Yes... but only for one day.
🐾 I’m afraid they’d never stop talking.
🐾 No thanks. Their expressions already tell me plenty!
Leave a comment and let me know if you’d like your pet to talk, and while you’re at it, tell me what you think their first comment would be.
(Remember, all comments this month are entered to win a personalized letter from Tango.)
Happy sleuthing,
💙 Emmie

Hello, humans.
I understand Emmie has been asking whether you’d want your pets to talk.
I fail to see why this is even a question.
Of course you do.
Imagine how much easier your lives would be if you simply listened to us.
For example, I could immediately tell you:
Which delivery person seems suspicious.
Which squirrel is running an organized crime ring.
Which floorboard creaks because someone has been sneaking around at night.
And most importantly...where you accidentally dropped that piece of cheese.
I also believe dogs should be allowed to assist with police investigations. We notice everything. We follow our noses. We don’t jump to conclusions.
Well...unless bacon is involved.
As for cats, they’re keeping secrets. I have no proof, but I’m working on it.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a haunted mansion to patrol and a ghost who refuses to admit I’m the better detective.
Keep your nose on the clues,
🐾 Dash
Chief Canine Detective (self-appointed)
