When I wrote about a little elf named Juniper who found herself solving cozy mysteries in the coziest place of all, Santa’s Village in the North Pole, I never expected her story to go past the third book.
But then my husband asked, “What if she had adventures in the South Pole?” Just like that, three more books popped into my head. I expected a talking penguin and a shaved ice stand with flavors like Frostberry Blue. (It tastes like blue, not frostberry.)
What I didn’t expect was an adorable elf named Dash with the cutest dimples ever. (By the way, Happy National Dimples Day!) Dash and Juniper started as friends in Frozen With a Yeti. In the next book, Frozen At the Jetty (which releases a week from today), they have a date—sort of.
As I work on Frozen By Confetti, I’m surprised at the plot twists I wasn’t expecting. It’s kind of like when you’re expecting a gift for a special occasion, whether it’s your birthday or a holiday. You know what the size and shape of the present is, but you have no idea what will happen when you open the present.
