Alexandra Sokoloff · Writing Life - Alexandra Sokoloff

It’s just four weeks now to the launch of The Grapevine, Book 1 in our new road trip thriller series. And Craig & I are busy plotting out our road trip book launch.

The Grapevine follows Lou Gomersall, a take-no-prisoners, middle-aged mom who takes the family RV out onto the highways and byways of California to search for her missing teenage daughter.

No SPOILERS in post but watch out for SPOILERS in Comments.

So we’re going to do a Lou: take an RV out on the road and trace her journey all over California.

Needless to say our publishers are thrilled…

We’ll start in LA, and drive to various locations from the book, camping out, shooting videos and taking photos and posting about the trip.

We’ll also be hitting a bunch of bookstores along the way, doing signings, visiting with author and reader friends. If your city or town is along or near our route, come out and see us! Drop us a DM so we can coordinate.

Here’s a rough approximation of our plan, very much subject to change as it’s all coming together!

  • Los Angeles

  • Manhattan Beach

  • Santa Monica

  • Brentwood

  • Calabasas

  • Burbank

  • Santa Clarita

  • Castaic Lake

  • The Grapevine

  • Buttonwillow

  • Bakersfield

  • Avila Beach

  • San Luis Obispo

  • Salinas

  • Sand City

  • Monterey

  • Santa Cruz

  • Big Basin Redwoods State Park

  • Big Basin Redwoods State Park

  • Los Gatos

  • San Mateo

  • Palo Alto

  • Mountain View

  • Half Moon Bay

  • Oakland

  • Berkeley

  • San Francisco

  • San Jose

And then we’ll be flying off to the American Library Association Conference in Chicago, IL!

Crazy? Oh yeah. But like I said, we’re doing Lou. And crazy is something Lou lives with every day:

—————————————————————————————————————

She knew she had not been entirely sane since the day Abby disappeared. “Currently crazy,” was how she thought of it. No longer a “needs sedation to get through the day” or “random sobbing in the middle of Trader Joe’s” kind of crazy, but the “get out there and do something about it and get the hell out of my way if you’re not going to help” kind of crazy.

—————————————————————————————————————

Lou’s not going home until she finds Abby.

Or kills the man who took her.

If you can pre-order, that would be lovely! - you can do that in all formats on various platforms here:

There’s also a Goodreads giveaway going on - for US readers only - but both US and UK readers can enter multiple giveaways on this Abby Gomersall is MISSING page.

And if any of you Bookstackers are interested in an ARC of The Grapevine, message me - I’d love to get you a Netgalley invite or Kindle copy.

Just one more reminder -

My feminist crime thriller Huntress Moon, Book 1 in the six (soon to be seven!) book series, is on sale this month from Thomas & Mercer.

A haunted FBI agent is on the hunt for an elusive woman he believes is responsible for dozens of murders across the US.
