Today I’m sharing a new lyric film shot on the Oregon Coast for my song ‘peering into silver water.‘ Like the other short film I released this month, I wanted to translate the presence and emotional language of my photographs into moving pictures.
When I originally released this song back in September I had quite a small reach, so I thought I’d use this as an opportunity to engage some new ears. I’ll preface that this track may seem a little unconventional, but when I listen back I find a truth captured within it that I am quite pleased about. When I recorded this song, over ten years had passed since I’d last touched a viola, the first instrument I ever learned. As I pulled the bow across the strings, I was a child once again spinning emptiness into poetry.
If you enjoyed this film it would be a great help if you could give the video a like on Youtube and here on Substack and also share it with others who it might connect with.
