A Lived Experience
Taking care of oneself requires presence, and presence is fluid. To stay fluid, we must break through rigid and ingrained habits that restrict full conscious choice. Realizing that the Galactics are calling forth a theme of patience and play, my first response was to tense, look the other way, and rationalize that it does not apply to me. Yet, in my heart of hearts, I know that it does apply to me.
As one with Saturn rising, a firstborn daughter, and a boomer with an early-boomer work ethic, play is super challenging. I remember a medical astrologer in the 80s saying, during a lecture, that those with Saturn in the 1st house should not even attend the party. Fine by me, as I tend to live a hermitage life anyway.
One (small) part of me knows that play and imagination can take short, sweet forms like picking up paints and applying them to paper, and or dancing in the kitchen, howling at the Moon, or sitting on the porch watching the sky, or calling a friend for an impromptu tea, or a solitary date to the art museum. Or surprising a loved one with a treat. There are endless ways to incorporate play and imagination.
While I can grasp this rationally, living it experientially is a whole other dimension. I will let you know how it goes. Do let me know how it goes for you, either by adding play and imagination or becoming more patient.
The Deep Space Blessings at this Full Moon
The middle of the sign of Aries solidifies a new beginning for those in the Northern Hemisphere and deepens the process of release for those in the Southern Hemisphere. At this early stage of a three-month season, we need patience for the budding process of becoming or the beginning process of releasing, depending on our hemisphere. The magic and wonder that happen through play increase awareness of the present moment, regarding what we are building or releasing.
In both hemispheres, the cumulative impact of the deep space bodies listed above calls for us to live authentically. We need the rational, grounded energy that takes life seriously, and the imaginative essence that knows how to play and create through the openings of wonder and joy. No matter which hemisphere we are in, we are resetting the stage.
On the Aries/Libra axis, with its Self/Other dynamic, we are encouraged to express our renewed self. We need the rational, grounded energy that takes life seriously, and the imaginative essence that knows how to play and create through the openings of wonder and joy. No matter which hemisphere we are in, we are realigning to current potential.
If we have been entrenched on one side or the other, too serious or too frivolous, it is time to find the fulcrum point of balance that allows for both, in dynamic measures. Which side calls for more engagement from you?
