Hello Dear Readers,
It’s been a long 18 weeks, but I had my final chemo infusion this week. Connor and I had a funny moment when we arrived. There was an unusually large amount of parking and I remarked, “Either everyone is cured or everyone has died.” To which Connor responded, “Or we are hear a little earlier than usual.” I suppose that could also be a possibility.

The center I go to has a bell you can ring when you finish. I didn’t know if that was an option for me since I’m still going to be going for immunotherapy, but they said finishing chemo totally counted and I could ring it if I wanted. I said, “You never know how far you’ll make it in this journey, so I’d better ring the bell any chance I get.”
Once I finished my infusion they made an announcement to the whole unit and a bunch of nurses lined the hall; many I knew and many I didn’t. It’s a large infusion center. They all cheered loudly as I lightly jogged down to the bell. I felt like Rocky.
Recently I’ve been trying out continuous contour drawing. It’s been relaxing.
I didn’t know how’d I’d feel in the moment, but I ended up crying a little. This has been such a hard journey. It’s not over and I don’t really know what the end will look like for me, but in that moment it was really nice to feel celebrated.
