Alright, let’s get dangerous!

Presenting three new glorious inked pages by Allie Preswick from MythFall Issue #2.

If you were hoping to see more of Rika, you’re in luck. She’s even more vibrant in the inks. These pages also introduce Seth and Jimmy, our first characters from Earth.

Earth and Zymera are now peaceful trade partners — after a rocky start. Complications during first contact nearly ended with the two planets at war. I hope to share more about that in a future Lore Drop.

I’m thrilled to reveal two gorgeous, fully-colored variant covers for Bound By Words.

The first is a Sailor Moon homage cover by Fell Hound. Madeline and Siora share a famous pose with Neptune and Uranus, and Fell Hound’s render adds a lovely softness to their magical girl vibes.

The second is an absolutely stunning cover by Stacey Lee.

Stacey gave us two cover layouts and this is the design our followers voted on. I’m happy to report that they steered us true.

Follow Bound By Words

We talked books at the top and last week I shared a TV show. But what about comics?

In traditional comics, I’m enjoying The Power Fantasy by Kieron Gillen and Caspar Wijngaard. In this comic, the world has 6 superpowered individuals that can never come into conflict because if they fight it would destroy the Earth.

On the indie side, I’m excited to get my copy of Downgrades #1 from Altruistink Comics, a weird and wonderful story of a super powered frog man who’s got a strong sense of justice, but no clue how the human world works.

Speaking of Kickstarter rewards, I finally got a chance to dig into the Comixlaunch Crowdfunding Planner from Tyler James.

I’m really enjoying the layout. The page design makes it fun to do the tasks. There’s so many helpful exercises, it was hard to pick which ones to share, but two that have helped me the most are the Platform Audit and the Launch Debrief.

• The Platform Audit helps you understand how much you can raise, so you can set a realistic target for your campaign. This is was the most intimidating part of setting up my first launch, so I got a lot out of this exercise.

• The Launch Debrief helps you slow down after each campaign and learn from your work before diving into the next thing. It was seeing other creators share this exercise that made me really want to do it myself.
