Hope you are having a great week!
I’m searching for the world's greatest collectibles, and exploring the journey of legendary creators and icons.
Here’s a few things I’ve learned over the last few days -
Ferruccio Lamborghini didn’t start with supercars. He started with a buried instruction manual, a diesel engine to rebuild a country, and a refusal to wait for permission.
That World War II story on Rhodes sounds almost unreal, but it sets the tone for everything that follows: technical curiosity, street-smart leverage, and a knack for turning chaos into advantage.
"Ferruccio Lamborghini was a sociable person, who knew how to communicate his thoughts at first sight. When you had verbal contact, he was frank and open. You might or might not like him, but you certainly knew immediately who you were talking to.”

The 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle is the most iconic, highly valued sports card in history. But the true story of what happened to the 19-year-old kid in the photo between the moment the camera flashed and the card hitting the shelves is an unbelievable saga of heartache, failure, immense struggle, and regret.
This isn't a fairy tale. It's a raw look at the intense pressure, crippling self-doubt, and lifelong regrets that forged "The Mick".
When Mickey showed up to spring training as a 19-year-old, his unprecedented combination of raw power and blinding speed completely baffled his manager, Casey Stengel. Trying to explain the physical anomaly of Mickey Mantle to the New York press, Stengel famously declared:
“He has more speed than any slugger and more slug than any speedster—and nobody has ever had more of both of ‘em together. This kid ain’t logical. He’s too good. It’s confusing.”

“The price point is not a marketing philosophy, it's just the result of my philosophy, my love for technique, extreme technique.”
Richard Mille once stated, “My only topic was to say I want to do what I like.” This mantra has been the cornerstone of his journey in watchmaking.
After a successful career as a manager in the watch industry, Mille felt a strong urge to create rather than merely manage. His desire to express creativity led him to establish a brand that focuses on extreme mechanics and avant-garde design.
