On the night of December 30, 2000, someone broke into a family’s home in Tokyo, murdered four people, and then hung out. In the house. He ate food. He used the bathroom. He left behind clothing, blood, fingerprints, hair, and personal items that should have made identification easy. In most murder cases, detectives pray for even a fraction of that evidence, but in the Setagaya case, they still could not identify the killer.
