My Response to Katherine Everitt on AI: Is this Theological Hegelianism?

This is a response to European Graduate School colleague, alumna Katherine Everitt’s piece on the APA Online Blog, “Intelligence is Always Artificial”. I think that I relate to her generalised thesis, but also I bring in other perspectives with regard to a general quantum theory of consciousness and monadic spirituality stemming from the work of fellow polymath and spiritual, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, cognitive science, rigorous machine learning and AI research, and my own studies of Hegel.

Clarification: I had been contacted 19th of August, 2025 by Drs. Charles Taben and Richard Gibson of the APA Online blog regarding having this article published verbatim, but we had come to the mutual conclusion later on, that it is better off to have me self-publish this, as it had been on my Medium publication blog, prior to the 20th of July, 2025.

“Intelligence is Always Artificial”

This notion is just a tautology. The term “Artificial Intelligence” refers to the so-called “reasoning” process of LLMs or “Large Language Models” in computing machines on servers, neural nets, as we call them. I happen to be an AI researcher by profession, in addition to a philosopher and qualified psychoanalyst.
