A check-in with my previous guest from back in December 2016 (episode 43), Simon Roberts, on POST Creative, the community photographic space he has created in with co-founder Nina Emett. (If you’re anywhere near Hove, a forthcoming event there is the POST x Kraszna-Krausz Photobook Weekender, July 4th and 5th.)

And last week’s guest, Henri Kisielewski, tackles the bonus questions.

Do you have a favourite photographer, if you absolutely had to pick someone? Why them?

There’s a photographer in my head, who I aspire to be a bit like, who has the poetic sensibility of Kertész, and Steinmetz, and Greg Halpern; who has the conceptual rigour of Paul Graham and Max Pinckers; the looseness of Mikiko Hara and Lua Ribiera; the openness to experimentation of Stephen Gill; the clear-eyed outlook of Robert Adams; and who is as happy as Max Pam… I think if you could get anywhere near that, you’d be doing pretty well.

An important announcement: The members-only podcast has moved home. To give my members a much better subscriber experience—including a simpler podcast feed with both member and archive episodes combined into one, the option to listen on Spotify, a greater sense of community, additional exclusive content and the option to save money by paying anually—the members-only podcast is now hosted on Substack. That means it can still be download automatically to your favourite podcast player, but you can also find it here.

So if you’ve ever considered joining the A Small Voice community, now is a great time to do it! Your membership will help keep the podcast going, but, more importantly, will give you access to the exclusive subscriber-only feed, additional bonus content, and the entire archive of main episodes going back to 2015, featuring hundreds of chats with inspirational, world-class photographers. All for £4 per month (if you pay annually). Join up below.
