What my music's about

This is a photo I took at twenty to midnight on 6th April 2019.

This was a time in life when I'd got lost.

I'd got into the habit of spending evenings writing.

I'd go to cafés and coworking spaces like this one and only pack up my laptop when the chairs were on the tables and the lights were going off for closing time.

In the photo, you can see the reflection of the laptop, the sofa, and the empty room.

I like it because it captures the tranquil delirium of that time.

I worried I'd fallen into an obsessive wormhole.

But I carried on, because I also felt something good was happening... even though I didn't know what.

In retrospect, working on that writing - a story-poem - helped me after a difficult time.

Each rhyme and couplet that slotted into place felt like a little win, and the project as a whole gave me a sense of momentum again. Here's the whole story.

The music I make now is especially for anyone who gets through tough times by imagining, making, and doing.

Come say hi at my second gig

This Friday is my second gig, so if you’re in London, come on down. We're on at 8.40.

It’s going to be energetic and strange and poppy. Maybe a little melancholic and uplifting too.
