Every day, 20 Alliance for American Leadership interns work in the Capitol cafeteria surrounded by dozens of USAID flags. People noticed. Congressional staffers started asking if they could have one, too.
The answer is yes.
On July 21, we will distribute 1,000 USAID flags to Members of Congress and their staff. What better way to remind Congress that USAID lives than to ask them to put flags in their offices and homes?
Each flag costs $8.
Our goal: raise $8,000 and put 1,000 flags on the Hill!!!

At USAID, Flag Day was the day foreign service officers learned where they were going. Each officer received the flag of the country they were assigned to.
We’re bringing Flag Day back. This time, the flags are for Senators. The posting is Capitol Hill. The assignment is restoring USAID now.
Here’s the thing:
USAID was illegally dismantled. It still exists in law. It still exists in spirit. It still exists in the hearts of every USAID employee, contractor, and intern on our team. And on day one, the next President can restore USAID by executive order. And they should! Let’s remind Congress that #USAIDLives
It accounted for less than once percent of the federal budget.
It saved 90 million lives over the past two decades.
It turned the tide against HIV/AIDS through PEPFAR.
It helped drive smallpox out of existence.
It cut child deaths with vaccines and oral rehydration therapy.
It pushed polio to the edge of eradication.
It fed millions of families through Food for Peace.
It built up allies like South Korea and Taiwan. Today, 11 of our 15 largest trading partners were once aid recipients.
It strengthened US soft power, promoted stability, and countered terrorism.
It promoted democracy, education, women’s empowerment, and human rights across the world.
