Hello friends!

Jesus is risen! 💛

And because He lives, everything changes.

Not just our eternity… but even the quiet ordinary moments, like opening our Bibles on a Tuesday morning.

“Death has been swallowed up in victory” (1 Corinthians 15:54)

This month, instead of writing a long letter, I recorded something a little more personal for you.

A video from my heart about how I’ve learned to actually enjoy reading the Bible—because our King lives and loves to reveal Himself to us today.

If I could sit down with my younger self, these are the things I’d tell her, gently highlighting mistakes I didn’t even realize I was making at the time.

And yet, Jesus was so kind to meet me there.

He always is.

Even now, when I catch myself slipping back into the same unhelpful patterns, I find myself returning to these same simple truths.

Because this was never about getting it “right.” It’s always about meeting a living Person.

I hope you’ll make a few minutes to watch or listen—and step into the joy of meeting Jesus in His Word today.

And when you do, I’d love to hear: Have you ever found yourself making one of these mistakes in your own quiet time? How has Jesus met you there?

A few simple delights from our team to you…

Christ is risen! Happy Easter from our family to yours. (We’re trying to keep our kids’ faces off the internet these days, so just imagine big smiles. 😄)
  • We watched this animated short a few months ago and I had to blink back tears—it’s such a beautiful expression of the Gospel. I just found out it’s been nominated for an Academy Award, and I love seeing Christian creators recognized for work well done. -Asheritah

  • I love all the fresh blooms that come with spring. Every day, my daughter picks a handful of tiny flowers from our front yard and brings them to me with the biggest smile on her face. I recently found these adorable flower vase magnets, and they’re the perfect size for her little bouquets. -Kathryn

  • This song has been on repeat in my earbuds and in my heart. Especially fitting these weeks after Resurrection Sunday. -Asheritah

  • I came across this post a few weeks ago, and even though Easter has passed, the message still lingers. I’d love to see more expressions like this within the evangelical church calling to women who’ve been hurt by the church but are slowly, bravely making their way back to Jesus.1 -Asheritah

  • The honest words of this song have been a blessing many times, bringing joy when spring blooms outside the window but winter still lingers. "What You have grown into a garden, You planted in the dark. You always finish what You start." -Kaitlyn

  • I’ve been journaling more consistently this past year—like, half-a-dozen journals worth (who am I??) There’s just something about the smell of a fresh $7 Target notebook that feels full of possibility. I also started reading Journaling as a Spiritual Practice by Allison Byxbe (Moody Publishers), and I’m excited to growing more intentional in this rhythm. -Asheritah

  • My kids and I have been dabbling with watercolors, and this simple beachscape tutorial gave me just enough confidence to try again after a year-long hiatus. That said… my twelve-year-old already paints them better than me. I’m choosing to call that “discipleship.” 😅 -Asheritah

Who knew painting minis could be this relaxing?

While I have some theological disagreements with the Catholic church, I’ve come to respect my Catholic sisters and brothers who earnestly practice their faith and seek King Jesus with all their hearts. It is in that spirit that I share this post, appreciating the grace with which they welcome those who’ve been hurt to come home.
