Hi friend!
Here we are, just a few weeks into the new year, and somehow it’s already February. How are your Bible rhythms going?
If you feel like you’ve fallen behind, you’re not alone. You want to grow deeper in God’s Word… but you’re probably also wondering:
Do I try to catch up?
If not, where do I begin now?
Will I ever be able to stay consistent?
I get it. For years Bible study felt like something I should be good at, but often wasn’t. I wrestled with guilt when I missed a day, distraction when I did sit down, and overwhelm when I tried to do all the things.
But here’s what I’ve learned, and it’s a truth I’ll preach to my dying breath:
God delights to meet you in His Word—even when you come with only a few minutes and an honest desire to know Him.
You don’t need hours of uninterrupted quiet or a seminary degree to meet with God.
You just need a willing heart.
I’m writing this just days after teaching God’s Word to 250 women at a Delighting in Jesus conference in Redlands, CA
It was a holy, humbling gift to witness the Spirit of Jesus at work—lifting heavy burdens, comforting grieving hearts, and gently freeing women from patterns of sin and shame. Together, learned how to keep turning back to Jesus for Him to restore our joy even in the midst of very real pain.
Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
There is peace.
There is joy.
And friends, nothing compares to the sound of hundreds of women lifting their voices in praise, thanking God for what He has done and trusting Him for what He will do next.
Honestly? It felt like heaven brushing up against earth.
Once again, I was reminded why I love teaching women how to delight in Jesus—not in perfect, IG-curated lives, but in the normal, ordinary rhythms of everyday faithfulness.
I love gathering face-to-face.
Opening our Bibles together.
Hearing your stories.
Being reminded—again and again—how deeply God delights in His daughters.
And while I can’t travel to every church or living room in the country, today I’m excited today to invite you into the next best thing:
🎉 Today we’re throwing wide the doors to our brand-new eCourse: Planted—Starting Simply with God’s Word
After years of prayer, months of planning, and—yes—a few unexpected delays, it’s finally ready. And I’m so thankful.
Planted is a gentle, grace-filled video journey designed to help you love God and love His Word more—without guilt, pressure, or overwhelm.
Think of it like bringing a conference + Bible study into the comfort of your own home… pajamas welcome. ☺️
Inside Planted, you’ll learn how to:
Start small—even when you’re short on time
Keep going when you fall behind (because you will, and that’s okay)
Build a sustainable rhythm in God’s Word
Experience the joy of hearing God speak to you through His Word
Each short video lesson includes a Scripture anchor and one small, doable step. And together, we’ll actually open the Bible—reading through the Gospel of John—so you won’t just learn about Bible study… you’ll practice it, one day at a time.
See what’s included in Planted
And because this is our very first launch, I’ll be walking through the course with you! Each week, I’ll be active in the course comments—answering your questions, offering encouragement, and cheering you on as you build this rhythm with God’s Word. Think of it as us journeying together, one day at a time.
Friend, you don’t have to stay stuck in guilt or confusion. This is your fresh start—a chance to plant yourself in God’s Word and trust Him to grow something beautiful in your life.
Plant yourself in God’s Word today
Doors to Planted are now open, and what a joy it would be to open our Bibles together and plant ourselves in the Word of God this year. So we may live into the truth of this blessing from Psalm 1:3:
“That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.”
Each month, we share a resource to grow your friendship with Jesus—plus a sweet giveaway and a simple idea to enjoy His Word.1
If you’re longing to help your kids engage with the Bible—not just hear the stories, but truly love God’s Word—this month’s YouTube tutorial is for you.
I’m sharing three simple, biblical, and fun ways to practice family devotions, even when life is busy and routines feel messy. You don’t need long lessons or perfect plans—just a few intentional rhythms that grow with your kids from childhood into the tween and teen years.
And thanks to our friends at Tyndale Publishers, we’re giving away three copies of the Inspire Bible for Kids—the Bible I personally use with my own children.
In the video, I also share a sneak peek at some of my favorite features, like coloring margins, kid-friendly devotions, memory verse prompts, and helpful book introductions designed to invite kids into God’s Word in age-appropriate ways.
Simple delights from our team to you.
One of my favorite local artists released a new song this week and I can’t stop listening to it. The line “When I know you’re with me, then I can breathe again” makes me smile every time I listen. - Hannah
We’ve enjoyed gathering with friends for dinner on these dark winter evenings, and I’ve finally discovered the best tiramisu recipe—quick to make, rich, creamy, and truly Italian. It earned two thumbs up from everyone, from little kids to grown-ups. - Asheritah
We’ve been listening to this album on repeat in our home, and it’s gently filled our space with peace. It’s become the kind of background that calms the room, settles the energy, and makes everything feel a little more grounded. - Kathryn
Although I miss the beauty of colorful fall leaves, the empty branches of winter bring another lovely thing: bright morning light. The message of extra light from what momentarily appears empty gets me every single time. - Kaitlyn
I’ve been especially delighting in our monthly Bookshelf emails lately—the comments there are an absolute gold mine of bookish joy and thoughtful conversation. Right now, I’m slowly savoring Why Doesn’t God Answer My Prayers?, and it feels a bit like coming full circle after growing up listening to Dr. Lutzer’s sermons on the radio. His pastoral wisdom is steady, Scripture-soaked, and quietly reassuring—this one has been a gift to read. - Asheritah
A monthly freebie to spark joy in your walk with Jesus.
This month’s free resource is a gift from Planted: our newly-designed “One Thing” bookmarks, created to help you refocus on Jesus and His Word int he middle of everyday life.

Where do you feel most stuck right now in your time with God’s Word?
I’ll go first: I joined my daughter in a Bible-in-a-year plan—and we both fell a few days behind. Instead of stressing, I’ve been reminding us (and myself) that God isn’t after a perfectly completed plan. He’s after our hearts. So we’re continuing on with grace as we head into some of the harder Old Testament passages.
I read every comment, and it’s a joy to walk this journey with you.
I read every comment, and it’s a joy to cheer you on.
And if you know someone who’d enjoy this letter, feel free to forward it their way. ✨
With much joy,
Asheritah & Team
PS: If Bible study has ever felt intimidating or discouraging, Planted was created with you in mind. I’d love to walk this journey with you. 🌿
